Mr. & Mrs. Vandebilt + kids

We opted to have GPS when we hired our van since we have no idea where we are going. We usually stick to the highways but sometimes we opt to take the less traveled path and check out some scenery. Usually though we make these decisions on our own turning off of our decided route. Today Navman made that decision for us.

It was the first rainy day we had had so we decided to stop and pick up some groceries on the way to Byron bay hoping it would clear up. We added Woolworths to the itinerary and set off on the highway. About 20 kms later navman told us to turn off.

All of a sudden we ended up in the middle of nowhere on a one lane road weaving through the hills. Since we were just trying to ride out the rain we figured we would just keep going. We twisted and turned through the hills seeing only a handful of other cars.

After about a half an hour we ended up back on the same highway we had just left. It probably wasn’t the easiest route to take but it sure was beautiful.
