The Magical Forest

We finally made it to Forks after our family flu 2024. After a night of rest and over 24 hours without puking we were ready to finally make the rest of the drive. We set off in the rain (fitting) and continued to wind our way through the rainforest along the coast until we reached Forks. We finally found our AirBnb, it was not the dilapidated trailer that we first thought. It seemed fitting to introduce the kids to the first Twilight movie for our first, and now only, night in the rainiest town in mainland USA after we grabbed some chicken nuggets from the very same store where Bella worked, just up the road.

We packed up in the morning to start our drive to Seattle via Olympic National park. Olympic National park was really the only reason that we had decided to make the trip north to Forks and was probably the park I was most excited about. So despite many objections from the kids and a longer than necessary day in the car, we made our way to Hoh Rainforest. It was so worth it.

The drive in was spectacular. I was constantly amazed by the green. It really was like being in Malaysia or Costa Rica. You would never think looking out the window (aside from the temperature) that you were in Washington state.
