After overcoming a stomach bug, we were finally able to go to the Crayola Experience. Madeline has been waiting to go to one of these since one of the first iterations of the trip had us staying in Pennsylvania. When we had to rework the trip to exclude PA we promised we would find another one to visit. Phoenix was our first opportunity.
Just like every great amusement center, Crayola Experience is in a mall in a suburbs. It is really reminiscent of the Legoland in Boston. Charlie got to sample a VR arcade while the girls got busy moulding, naming and melting crayons. After hours of creating bags worth of art projects we were ready to pack it in.

Our final day in Phoenix gave us the best weather of our stay. There was a beautiful hike just down the road from where we were staying with the promise of city views and lots of cacti. We loaded Roland up with our water, and since we are apparently now a family that hikes, we headed for the hills.
