It’s all happening … at the zoo ðŸŽ¶

You can’t visit San Diego and not go to the zoo. Lucky for us, our airbnb is just around the corner (quite possibly the only good thing about it) and so our first morning in the city we headed over.

We realized as we were heading to the zoo that our kids have never been to one. They have asked many times but we had always said that San Diego was the only zoo we would take them to. Don’t worry – they aren’t deprived – they’ve seen all kinds of animals on our travels. They’ve fed elephants, giraffes and zebras in Africa. They’ve fed monkeys and seen sloths from our airbnb in Costa Rica. But today we finally got to cross a zoo off their bucket list.

We had a great day. They were all troopers climbing up and down the 7 miles of hills. We managed to see every animal they had. I will say I remember being way more amazed at the zoo the last time I was there. Maybe you just can’t beat the first time seeing these animals. Maybe it was because I was in charge of paying for the food and carrying the water this time. We packed a lot into our day – and while I might have had to carry the water – at least I didn’t have to carry and pay for all those disposable cameras like the first trip 😅
