For whatever reason, Phoenix has always been very high on Jacob’s list of places to visit. He’s never really been able to say why, I guess he just had a feeling about it. We really had no idea what to expect when we booked in for Phoenix – one thing we have learned is that a lot of these cities are really just familiar names to us. Not necessarily for any good reason, just through pop culture. The cities don’t really have anything special to do, but they do have a vibe or at the very least a feeling – Phoenix fortunately has a good one.
We got to check off another professional sport while we were in Phoenix. We headed downtown to wander around before we watched the Suns take on the Utah Jazz. Phoenix was one of the first real downtowns we have found in a while. It turns out most of the rest of the south west is just a sprawling mess of houses and businesses that is often eerily empty. Or so it seems when we are there. After wandering around for a bit we stopped in to a pub for a quick drink before the game. The pub had about 40 different options on tap and just as many games to choose from. We all had a great time.

The game was a blast – and Nora only had a handful instead of a million questions. Turns out basketball is the sport they’re most familiar with. One foam finger, some delicious snacks, and a win for the home team we wrapped up our day in Phoenix.
