Great Wolf Lodge

Since we are stuck in a Polar Vortex and we couldn’t really find anything that we wanted to do in Kansas – especially when you limit yourself to indoor activities only – we decided to surprise the kids with a couple of nights at a Great Wolf Lodge. We had been talking about going to a Great Wolf since 2020 when we had planned a secret getaway to Boston with Alexis. That obviously didn’t happen since the world closed the week before we were set to go.

We found a place for Ro to stay for a couple of days since it’s wolves only at the lodge. The kids quickly forgot their sadness in saying goodbye to him once they realised where we were going and what a great wolf lodge actually was. We got ourselves our ears, booked into our kid cabin, did a little tour around and headed for the waterpark.

It’s safe to say that Great Wolf Lodge was a total success for our little crew. The kids all got to pick one activity to do with their Christmas money from Nanny. The girls went shopping, Charlie played laser tag, we spent more time in the waterpark and then they embarked on the Magi Quest. Thankfully we have set the precedent of them sharing these types of activities so they bought the one wand and then spent HOURS running around the lodge completing the quests and adventures. A win for everyone.

We wrapped up our time at the lodge with a Master Magi Quest ceremony, which was perhaps one of the most eclectic group of people and activities we have seen in a while. After graduating we all piled into the van where the kids all fell asleep – a sign of a really great couple of days.

What a fun trip! I was there over 10 years ago, and even as an adult I had so much fun!!
