Let the road trip begin!

Even though we left home weeks ago, the stop in Ontario really just felt like an extension of home. We were pretty stationary, still had lots of friends around and hadn’t left the country. Now that that is done, it’s time to hit the road and see where the wind takes us.

We have a “plan”. Or at least a plan-ish of where we are headed.

We have come up with at least a general route that we will take and more or less a timeline of how to accomplish it. Some parts will be slower than others as I am still working but the plan is to spend as much time as possible in as warm of a place as possible. At the moment we have accommodations for most nights until January 23rd.

After leaving Ontario we essentially drove all the way around Lake Erie to Cleveland. Charlie has some unexplained obsession with Ohio. He tells me it has something to do with a meme. Either way he’s been pumped to finally get to Ohio. We made it to Cleveland with enough time to take a quick trip through the rock and roll hall of fame and a quick walk down to the water before we had to be out of the parking garage for the Cleveland browns game that was about to start.

The rock hall of fame was definitely with the couple of hours that we were there, but really that was enough time for us. It felt a lot like a huge Hard Rock Cafe. I truthfully liked the building itself more than the exhibits but I’m not nearly the audiophile that Jacob is. The kids liked any of the exhibits where they got to play on a screen.

The kids, and honestly Jacob and I too, have been talking about Chuck E Cheese since we visited last March in Florida. There seemed to be a very high number of them in the Cleveland area so we figured a visit to one was a great way to end our first day in USA. It also really solidified Charlie’s love for Ohio. We have one more day in Ohio before we head to Kentucky!
